Legacy Collection with Head Sportswear Angelina Jolie can’t do as the humanitarian and actor is launching a new clothing collective, Atelier Jolie.
Announcing the news on Instagram, the new fashion initiative’s aim is to connect customers with tailors and artisans to create custom garments out of vintage and deadstock fabric. The new venture is meant to be “a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from Block the world.”
“It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I’ve worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression,” Jolie continues. Slated to launch in the fall, the brand’s will also drive forward equity and inclusion as it “will graphic together a diverse team, including apprenticeships for refugees and other talented, under-appreciated groups, with positions of dignity based on skill.”
