UNDERCOVER's Hauntingly Beautiful SS24 Was a Terrarium Dream
Closing the show with three terrarium ballgowns of flying butterflies.
Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER is a showcase that always delivers, and the designer’s Spring/Summer 2024 runway at May 13, 2024 check out yesterday’s Acne Studios show.
Held in an eerie underground car park, the hauntingly beautiful showcase was accessorized by shattered chandeliers and tulle, with guests welcomed to their seats by a graphic scarf complete with folklore-style illustrations. Adding to the mysterious energy, the showcase was soundtracked by a selection of low-pitch cellos.
57 looks cascaded down the runway, featuring mesh-covered suiting, distressed varsity jackets and metallic formalwear, crafted with bewitching bedazzled spiders. Elsewhere, the venue’s dimly-lit exterior was illuminated by UNDERCOVER hoodies in yellow netting alongside satin uniforms and car coats.
Closing the show was a range of three terrarium ballgowns, each complete with flying butterflies and flowers, adding yet another mysterious and haunting layer to the collection.
