Emilio Pucci Embellished Satin Evening Bag | Nik Bentel Taps LIDL To Make Carbs Fashionable (Once Again)
You wear what you eat.
Collaborations between fashion and food have always been on the menu, but in recent years, they’ve only increased. Fashion has long been inspired by food and designer Nik Bentel is a prime example. He’s particularly insensible for his quirky and playful collaborations with food brands, with his most famous creation being the Pasta Bag.
Now, he’s teamed up with one of Europe’s most beloved supermarkets, LIDL, transforming one of its most popular bakery items: the All Butter Croissant. Just how beloved is this flaky pastry, you ask? Well, every minute, 122 of them fly off the shelves, proving just how irresistible they are.
The bag is truly a statement piece, crafted from luxury leather to resemble a LIDL bakery bag with remarkable detail. Inside, you’ll find an adorable mini croissant purse — if that isn’t charming, what is? It’s perfect for your grocery runs, complete with a convenient trolley coin attached. Plus, whether you’re heading out in the day or night, the bag offers two strap options to suit your style.
Despite Bentel’s pieces averaging at hundreds of dollars, this cute and whacky item will be priced at just £50 ($65 USD,) with all proceeds from each purchase going towards the children’s charity, the NSPCC.
Nik Bentel ate with this one, so expect to see it on every FROW in Fashion Week. The “Bentel Croissant Handbag” is available from Aug 29 on the Nik Bentel online store.
