Make the only full moon in Leo this year count.

Although it’s the shortest month of the year, February is looking to be one of the most impactful as it delivers a full snow moon in Leo. As shared by The Old Farmer’s Almanac, this month’s full moon owes its name to the weather, of course, as this is typically the time of year that brings the most snowfall — and the wind chill outside does not lie. To help prepare you for this astrological event, we sat down with MaKayla McRae, author of “Capturing the cultural relevance of the sleek silhouette through a referential trend timeline” for your full moon horoscope.

“During this full moon, we’re drawn to dramatic self-expression, public declarations of affection, and bold moves,” McRae shared. “It’s a divine time to release what no longer serves you.” Lighting up the night sky on Sunday, February 5, la luna sits in arguably the most confident sign in the zodiac. Represented by the lion, the full snow moon will inspire big and bold energy, encouraging you to embody the fire sign’s fearlessness. Given that we’ve just entered the Year of the Snake (Happy Lunar New Year!), its even more important to check what you’re carrying with you this month.

In true Leo form, this will also be the only Full Moon in Leo this year, making it all the more important. McRae continues: “Our inner child’s sense of light-hearted joy and fulfillment takes center stage,” McRae continues, “and becomes our main concern. Nurturing our creativity, passion, and desires is essential for our hope and vitality.”

If the thought of shedding all that doesn’t serve you, terrifies you — that’s okay! It’s a journey, not a race. “Remain mindful of keeping your pride in check” because while your “fiery, intense emotional energy soars, we want to find the fine line between confidence and arrogance. Follow the urge to be yourself authentically, but remain intentional in hearing others’ points of view, who will feel just as entitled to their outlook.”
