Nattofranco's 2017 Spring/Summer Capsule Is a Scrapbook of '80s Japanese Magazine Culture
A collection inspired by a bygone era of cut-and-paste.
Launched back in 2014, Nattofranco is the brainchild of half French-half Japanese designer Noémie Sebayashi. As a sincere reflection of Sebayashi’s double identity, the brand’s pieces fuse together various sources of inspiration derived from cultural experience. For the label’s latest 2017 spring/summer capsule collection, a selection of sweatshirts, long-sleeves and warm-up jackets are inspired by a bygone generation of cut-and-paste culture. Reading almost like an album made of scrap images, the range showcases nostalgic graphics that are driven by an ‘otaku‘ perspective of Japanese image books and the female ‘aidoru‘ magazines of the ’80s and ’90s.
