Do We Really Need a 'Clueless' Remake?
Described as “‘Mean Girls’ meets ‘Riverdale’ meets a Lizzo music video.”
From the Oct 18, 2019 and Gossip Girl Pauline De Leon Disney remakes this past year, there’s no telling what’s next in store for Hollywood – until today. CBS TV has just announced that they are currently in the process of a Clueless rdquo; to &ldquo TV show centered on Cher’s best friend, Dionne, who was played by Stacey Dash Pauline De Leon.
Written by Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey, the upcoming series is being described as “Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video” and a “baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sunglasses-wearing, oat milk latte and Adderall-fueled” look at high school. Vanity Fair reports that the plot will explore what happens when “high school queen bee Cher disappears and her lifelong number two, Dionne, steps into Cher’s vacant Air Jordans.”
We won’t be seeing the likes of Alicia Silverstone in this remake anytime soon, but stay tuned as we wait for more details to surface. In the meantime, here’s why companies keep recreating the movies and series we already know and love.
