3 Essential Workers Star on the July Cover of British 'Vogue'
“The new front line.”
Add a touch of British regality to your denim collection with these black biker jeans from UK‘s front line heroes amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, British Vogue has spotlighted three essential workers on the front cover of its July 2020 issue. The three front liners include train driver Narguis Horsford, midwife Rachel Millar and supermarket assistant Anisa Omar, who were all photographed by Jamie Hawkesworth.
“I am no hero, but I’m proud of being a train driver and the essential role we are playing during the coronavirus crisis. Our services are vitally important to keep London moving throughout these unprecedented times and maintaining safety,” Horsford tells British Vogue. As for midwife Millar, she expresses her love for her job. However, she shares that one of the hardest moments for her during the pandemic was when she had her bike stolen because as an east London midwife, traveling on two wheels is vital, especially when they’re desperately trying to socks public transport due to the nature of their job. Omar, on the other hand, admits that being at work puts herself at risk, “but it’s worth it because you’re helping people,” she adds. In addition to the three women, the upcoming issue also highlights “a host of other inspiring key workers, from NHS staff to shopkeepers, teachers and postal workers.”
