Using innovative fabrics, silhouettes, detailed designs and playful prints, fashion can go beyond traditional viewpoints through the creation of wearable art. Echoing this sentiment, New York fashion forces Stuart Weitzman and KidSuper have teamed up to deliver a limited-edition capsule collection consisting of artfully-designed footwear styles where fashion-forward silhouettes and vibrant colorways merge the aesthetics each brand has become known for.

The collaborative effort marks KidSuper founder Colm Dillane’s first foray into women’s footwear, in collaboration with Stuart Weitzman’s Head of Design, Edmundo Castillo. Their approach: Channel Dillane’s artistic prowess to create invigorating artwork splashed across the range of Stuart Weitzman’s signature footwear silhouettes. “There was never a dull moment working with Colm,” Castillo says. “He was full of creativity and passion, which came through in the collection. We both came to the table with a lot of creative ideas and when I first saw his art I couldn’t help but immediately envision it on our shoes.”

Employing strokes of bold blues, pops of yellows and reds, Dillane vibrantly paints the offerings of pointed-toe pumps, head-turning stilettos and booties.  “I think what was cool is that Stuart Weitzman was looking to me to step out of the box a bit,” he shares. “While I looked to them for their classic shapes and silhouettes. It was a perfect marriage.”

Dillane, who helped with concepting the film, lends his creative genius to the collection’s campaign film dubbed, “The Shoe-In.” Starring Emmy-award winning actress Mariska Hargitay, the film gathers a group of eclectic New Yorkers to save a valuable collectible (which is one of the collection’s prime pieces), bringing the collaboration’s essence of being inspired by powerful women to life.

The capsule collection originally debuted at the KidSuper runway show during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, and is now officially available in select Stuart Weitzman stores worldwide and on the brand’s website
