Blurring the lines between preppy and street-ready
Titled “Politics As Usual.”
Who Decides War‘s Fall/Winter 2023 collection, “Politics As Usual” is a confession of the brand’s love for New York, nodding to the city’s unbeatable culture.
The brand infuses its season with the concrete jungle’s experimental energy, challenging how clothes should be worn as a pocketed leather coat makes an appearance as a skirt. Glossy black eyes nod to the city’s sleepless nature. Driven by a “more is more” aesthetic, the label’s newest offering is an early aughts dream filled with plentiful layers and deeply distressed denim. Pinstripe suits are worn with sweatsuits and knitted headwear for added warm. Beautifully worn leather jackets sit atop blazers, while button down shirts better suited for the office rest easy, falling off of models’ shoulders.
Elsewhere, oversized outerwear is adorned with patches, resembling stained glass windows. WDW’s logo is etched into a luxurious cream coat, its authoritative presence contrasted by bulky winter gloves. Meanwhile, a tiered two-piece knit set adds a much needed touch of elegance to the otherwise grungy collection. Other formal options offer a mix of relaxed glamor as floor-sweeping dresses Teetering on the edge of strength and elegance.
