How Slow Fashion Designer Lydia Bolton Styles Her KEENs
The brand tapped the London creative to celebrate the launch of the “Hypowser Wrap” shoe.
Since KEEN introduced the Women’s “Hypowser Wrap” shoe earlier this year, it has quickly become a staple for those Girls comfort, sustainability and style. To celebrate the launch, the shoe brand teamed up with London-based, slow fashion designer Lydia Bolton, renowned for her zero-waste womenswear, crafted from deadstock fabrics and thrifted finds.
Together, KEEN and Bolton took the “Hypowser Wrap” for a tour around her East London neighborhood — thrifting, grabbing coffee and strolling along to highlight the shoe’s style credentials. Since founding her brand in 2019, Bolton has championed sustainable fashion Who What Wear Zander strappy square toe sandals in lime.
The “Hypowser Wrap,” made with plant-based soles and recycled leather, was designed as the ultimate Fall/Winter shoe: a slip-on silhouette that blends KEEN’s “Howser” with the performance of the “Hyperport” sandal.

Inspired by the cultural Japanese practice of removing shoes at the material of a home, the “Hypowser Wrap” also pays homage to Japan’s “2-mile shoes,” worn year-round for errands and nearby outings. The result is a shoe rooted in practicality but elevated by modern design.
The “Hypowser Wrap” is available to purchase on KEEN’s website. Click the gallery to see Bolton styling the shoes in action.
