CONVERSE BY FENG CHEN WANG
London-based and Chinese-born designer Feng Chen Wang has once again teamed up with Converse to create another collection with the iconic label, this time around debuting new takes on the Chuck 70 and Pro Leather sneaker silhouettes, as well as a sportswear-influenced collection. This season, the designer explores utility wear as well as military and Air Force uniforms, offering each of the pieces in the range in two colorways. All pieces perfectly balance outdoor exploration and tech-wear with Wang’s unique eye for detail and design.
I-AM-CHEN
Knitwear label I-AM-CHEN is all about capturing the fun and light-hearted spirit of its audience, which no matter what age, always has a young soul. The label works with world-class technicians to create intricate designs using unconventional yarns and innovative techniques. Chen believes in working with machines, and is currently trying “to minimize human touch because it simply cannot compete with the precision and efficiency machines offer,” and is about to become one of the biggest names in the Chinese fashion scene.
AMI
“Shanghai is a fascinating city, I love its dynamism, the bubbling mix of Oriental and Occidental influences. AMI’s first fashion show outside of our beloved Paris is a great milestone for us: hosting it in Shanghai is our way to thank and celebrate the city and the country, and all our friends here,” said AMI creative director and founder Alexandre Mattiussi. The label’s SS20 range marks its first collection shown outside of Paris, and took inspiration from the Chinese city. The range consisted of a total of 45 looks, paying homage to China through colors like red, which is a symbol of joy, luck and celebration throughout the country.
SHUSHU/TONG
Liushu Lei and Yutong Jiang founded their label together after graduating from London College of Fashion’s MA Fashion Design Womenswear program in 2015. They’ve since been nominated for the International Woolmark Prize, and have fabulous recognition in the fashion industry through their intricate designs. The label is all about deconstructing and reconstructing, using feminine elements like frill, mesh and ruffle, with contrasting masculine silhouette. Because of its unique aesthetic SHUSHU/TONG has been picked up by a handful of retailers like Pauline De Leon, SSENSE and Browns Fashion. “At the core of all the SHUSHU/TONG girls is a secretive wilfulness concealed beneath the look of their playful innocence,” said the designers about the label.
CORNERSTONE
CORNERSTONE designer Sun Yun comes from a prestigious background in architectural design, with vast experience that stretches over 20 years. He was also named one of the top 100 design firms in the world by Architectural Digest, and has been making a name for himself in the fashion industry through CORNERSTONE.
