Titled “SEOULSOUL,” the range brings focus to designer Jung Wook Jun‘s hometown, Seoul.
“When I considered how to present my SS21 collection, I found myself thinking of my hometown, the city that inspires me” Jung wrote in an official press release. “For me, Seoul has always been too close and familiar to notice, but it has always been on my mind. There is no better place to film the collection,” he further added.
Taking inspiration from the city that is crowded and busy, yet possesses traditional beauty, the label showcases technical and structural silhouettes in a lookbook lensed by Hong Janghyun and modeled by Hyunji Shin and Taemin Park. In an accompanying video, the models are seen walking the streets of Seoul in the “SEOULSOUL” pieces, which is Jung’s take on the “real runway.”
In womenswear, a long, bulky coat boasting a khaki hue with pocket detailing kicks off the collection, followed by a denim jumpsuit and knitted top. Matching men’s pieces are also seen throughout, with a denim jumpsuit paired with a black leather coat. Maintaining a toned-down color palette, the range further includes boxy blazers and bomber jackets styled with a long, sheer dress. Highlighting the lineup is a maxi-length ribbed dress with padded shoulder details, as well as an oversized blue jacket with cargo pants and boots.
